Outdoor Celebration Sound Gear

Our church had their birthday party, today. I supplied some of the sound equipment and set it all up.

There were a couple, potential, issues. Thankfully, everything ran without a hitch. The first issue was due to speaker placement and cable length. XLR cables start to lose signal around 300′ and the furthest speaker was around 350′. We ended up pushing the output from the board and turning the other speakers down to compensate. The second issue was that the speakers are passively-cooled (no fans). We set up, the previous day, and it was sunny. I was concerned that the speakers would overheat and shut down. It ended up being overcast, the whole day, and everything worked as intended. I was even thinking about gaff-taping an umbrella to the speakers, to keep them shaded.
