Christ Governing Assembly contacted me about renting my Complete Sound System. They had a ministry conference, at Mount Sequoyah, in Fayetteville, AR.
During the conversation, it was found that the venue would supply the main speakers, soundboard, and stage box. I was able to discount the sound services and add an Event Video Shoot. There wasn’t budget, for additional camera operators, so I used my new PTZ camera and one wide shot. This was the first time I did sound and video, for the same event. I just switched to the wide, whenever I needed to select a new subject. They were also needing some instruments, when no one had ever requested, so now I have an option to rent musical instruments as well as sound and video gear. Overall, it worked pretty well. You can watch the services on their Facebook page.
This was a Saturday morning, and my church had an event the previous night. I had to load the car up, on Thursday night. As soon as the church event was over (around 10:30PM), I high-tailed it to Fayetteville. I arrived at the hotel around 12:30AM and woke up at 5:15AM. I had to be at the venue, to set up, at 6:00AM. The event ended around 4:30PM and I pulled into the driveway around 9:45PM. Needless to say, I was very tired. I was running sound, at church, the next morning and I’m pretty sure I fell asleep during the sermon. Hehehe…
They served lunch, between the morning and afternoon services. There were some African dishes. One of the helpers asked if I needed to know what the food was. I recognized rice and chicken. They had what she called beef stew, but it was more like chunks of beef in a sauce (certainly not what I think of as beef stew). It was quite tasty. The chicken was a lot spicier than I was expecting.
